As announced by magnate Elon Musk, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) already has an effective plan to improve the structure of the State. This is a measure to release the burden represented by thousands of workers with little or no productivity and, thereby, lower the budget. With the measure, the great problem of excessive bureaucracy, which generates enormous expenses, would be attacked.
The DOGE department, whose name refers to Elon Musk’s favorite digital currency, has a huge task. According to this proposal, public administration workers will not remain unemployed.
Contrary to this, this workforce will move to positions in the private sector where their capacity can be exploited for the benefit of the country. In this way, the mission of the DOGE department would be faithfully fulfilled by relieving the State budget and injecting productive labor into private sector companies. The surplus resources, explains the billionaire, would be available to improve the country’s trade balance.

This effective plan to stabilize public spending is one of several proposals that DOGE will present. It is important to remember that this department does not become a federal agency, but is a type of advisory body that has until July 2026 to present proposals that public powers may consider valuable to implement.

Proposals of this nature will begin to be common in the coming months. It is worth mentioning that each federal agency in the United States will have direct contact with DOGE to establish joint action policies.
Some detractors fear that this plan seeks to carry out a mass dismissal of employees who do not pass certain filters in private companies. This mass could cause a sharp drop in wages in the country as a result of the excess supply of labor.
For DOGE, this plan is urgent, considering that it must create a considerable decrease in the budget without eliminating key social programs. During his campaign, Donald Trump promised that he would not eliminate social programs like Medicare and Social Security. These are two fundamental programs that are battlegrounds between Democrats and Republicans.
