Trump has been chosen to illustrate the cover of the popular magazine among a large number of nominated names that include: His former challenger Kamala Harris, Elon Musk, Claudia Sheinbaum (president of Mexico), Benjamin Netanyahu and Mark Zuckerberg.

The reasons for the election of Donald Trump can be read in an article by Sam Jacobs, editor-in-chief of Time, who explained that the magazine chose Trump because: “Since he began running for president in 2015, perhaps no individual “He has played a bigger role in changing the course of politics and history than Trump.”
Jacobs also added: “Trump has transformed American politics in the process. “He won by broadening his base, taking advantage of frustration over rising prices, and benefiting from a global turn against incumbents.”
During 2024, Donald Trump has been constantly under the media spotlight due to his candidacy in the US presidential election and his subsequent victory.
Furthermore, his support for the crypto sector positioned him as a pro-Cryptocurrency candidate and generated strong support from the sector.
Excitement around Trump prevails in the crypto sector
Let us remember that the rally that took Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies to current levels began with Donald Trump’s victory in the presidential elections on November 5.
Several campaign promises, such as the creation of a national strategic reserve in Bitcoin, the push for favorable regulation for the sector, and the dismissal of current SEC Chairman Gary Gensler, created a pro-cryptocurrency image for Donald Trump.
Today, just over a month into his mandate, the enthusiasm in the market around Donald Trump prevails and several reports, such as the one from CoinShares (published on December 11), predict a favorable year 2025 for the crypto sector under the mandate of Trump.
“As the United States leans toward these policies, altcoins will likely outperform Bitcoin, even though the latter could still be one of the best-performing assets in 2025.” CoinShares analyst Max Shannon said in the report, referring to Trump’s promised support for miners and regulatory reform.
Trump illustrates the 98th issue of Time magazine
Counting the current 2024 issue, Time magazine has released 98 “person of the year” issues. This includes the first edition in 1927 and all annual editions that were made then constantly until 2024.
The edition seeks to choose the individual (or individuals) who, for better or worse, have influenced the world, according to its criteria.
In these editions there are famous people such as Martin Luther King Jr. (1963) and controversial figures in history such as Adolf Hitler (1938).
Today Donald Trump occupies issue 98 and according to Time’s editor-in-chief: “At the height of his second presidency, all of us, from his most fanatical supporters to his most fervent critics, we live in the Age of Trump».
