CyberKongz SEC: The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has issued a Wells notice to NFT gaming project CyberKongz, the developers reported last week, marking the latest regulatory investigation into an entity of its kind. “The SEC Enforcement Division has approached us with very concerning talk that you cannot have a (ERC-20) token along with a blockchain game without registering it as a security,” CyberKongz said in a statement on Monday. The team added that it will “defend this position for space in general.”
Philadelphia 76ers game: The NBA team Philadelphia 76ers has launched “Spectrum Sprint,” a free-to-play mobile game with Web3 elements, in collaboration with Crypto.com—a sponsor since 2021.
The game uses a pixelated art style, with side-scrolling gameplay that asks players to traverse Philadelphia landmarks and race down Broad Street toward the team’s former Spectrum Stadium.
