This week it was announced that the Ministry of Education of the City of Buenos Aires, Argentina, has approved the inclusion of Ethereum teaching for students in public and private secondary schools. The first course is scheduled to start on August 27.
In addition to including Ethereum education in the school curriculum, the initiative also raises the offer of Professional internships in Blockchain-related projects in educational institutions.
Another project that comes hand in hand with the recently announced one is the preparation of 500 young adults (18 years and older) in the use of Solidity. This is the programming language used to create Bitcoin-criptomonedas-seguridad/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>smart contracts on Ethereum. This is so that participants are able to develop decentralized applications (dApps) that can be integrated into the local economy.
In order to strengthen this project and, over time, expand it to other regions of the Argentine territory, ETH Kipu will also present A hybrid training program for 30 educators which will prepare them in teaching subjects related to blockchain and Ethereum.
Romina Sejas, co-founder of ETH Kipu, expressed her satisfaction with the launch of this initiative. Known as “cryptochica” on social media, Sejas commented who worked quietly for months on the project along with other members of the organization he leads.
“It started a few months ago, with classes for +100 articulators from the Ministry of Education, then with a launch event for 200 high school students and now it is taking shape with these 3 action points mentioned in the document.”

As Sejas mentioned in her post on the social network X, ETH Kipu had already been carrying out activities in order to achieve the goal they reached. In fact, within the framework of this year’s Ethereum Argentina event, she spoke about the initiative with CryptoNews.
“The idea is also for us to gather some feedback, to understand how to approach… what it is like to talk about ‘crypto’, about blockchain with a high school student,” Sejas said at the time.
Not everyone sees the Ethereum lesson as good news
While many welcome the inclusion of teaching on Ethereum and blockchain to secondary education in Argentina, there are also those who do not see this as something positive.
One of them is the Argentine entrepreneur and bitcoiner Adam Dubove, who qualified from “financial de-education” to the initiative that is advancing in Buenos Aires. Dubove harshly criticized etherthe Ethereum Cryptocurrency, noting that it is controlled by the company Consensys, which specializes in the development of tools for the web3 ecosystem.
Dubove acknowledged that every educational institution should be free to offer whatever content it considers relevant to its students. However, he accused the general imposition of a program such as the one promoted by ETH Kipu of being “obscene.” “If the state imposes teaching about fraud, it is directly obscene and should be considered child abuse,” said the businessman.
In El Salvador there is an initiative similar to the one promoted in Argentina that It has been in operation since 2022although, unlike it, this one focuses on Bitcoin Developer Training and training is carried out hand in hand with the university system.
For its part, the NGO Bitcoin Argentina launched its Schools and Bitcoin Projectwhich has been active for 2 years. It is an educational program that seeks to bring knowledge about digital currency to the country’s secondary schools through workshop facilitators trained by the same organization.
