The classic Ethereum NFT project comes back to life, but this time as a crypto game on Telegram. This is the first official release of the IP since the original NFT collection launched in 2017 and serves as a “teaser” to the collection’s re-release on Flow.
In recent years, Dapper Labs—creator of CryptoKitties—has focused on expanding its portfolio to include licensed crypto products such as NBA Top Shot, NFL All Day, and Disney Pinnacle. But with the recent explosion of gaming on Telegram, the company was inspired to return to the CryptoKitties IP.
Gaming on Telegram exploded in popularity in 2024 with Hamster Kombat attracting over 300 million players, Notcoin launching the largest gaming token of the year, and numerous other projects (including Flappy Bird) joining the excitement train.
Now, the creators of CryptoKitties are adding to the craze with the launch of the mini app, All The Zen, which appears to follow the same basic premise of tapping the screen that has dominated gaming on Telegram so far. Players will work to hatch eggs that hatch Kitties to produce “Zen”, which can then be spent on in-game upgrades.
Most of the games on Telegram that have come before CryptoKitties: All The Zen have used the Telegram-linked blockchain The Open Network (TON). However, Dapper Labs will instead use its own Flow blockchain, created after the CryptoKitties lawsuit halted Ethereum due to major congestion in 2017.

Player progression in the mini app on Telegram will later unlock an airdrop of CryptoKitties-related tokens on the Flow network. This model, called “play-to-eggdrop”, is a variant of the “tap to win” and “play-to-airdrop” models that have largely motivated the rise of gaming on Telegram.
Players have spent months playing to get their share of a future token drop, despite sometimes being disappointed with what they receive, as was the case last week with Hamster Kombat.

The game will serve as a “glimpse” of what’s to come with CryptoKitties’ “large-scale relaunch” on Flow, a move that was first hinted at in 2020 but was apparently postponed while NBA Top Shot and other Dapper projects They gained momentum. In addition, it promises to immerse yourself in the story of a fearful landscape, in which players will try to hatch the “ReGenesis Kitten” from an egg to bring an era of joy to the world.
This follows the launch of a new Ethereum NFT collection called “Egg” that served as a teaser for the game. Dapper Labs told Decrypt that the collection will soon provide “big benefits” for players on Telegram.
CryptoKitties were the first NFTs to be minted using the ERC-721 token standard. The project once accounted for 13% of all transactions on Ethereum, as players purchased Kitties to breed and create offspring.
