Hungry season for Dogecoin is back.
The original and most valuable memecoin continued its decline into Friday, falling as low as $0.267 according to data from CoinGecko. That’s the lowest price seen since Nov. 10, when DOGE was in the early stages of a post-election surge that would take it as high as $0.48—a three-year peak.
Currently priced at $0.2975, DOGE has fallen 19% in the last 24 hours, bringing its monthly drop to 24%. Other prominent meme cryptocurrencies are showing similar daily declines, with Shiba Inu (SHIB) down 16%, Pepe (PEPE) down 17%, and Dogwifhat (WIF) down 18%.
The Solana Bonk token (BONK) has fallen the least among meme coins in the top 100 cryptocurrencies, with a daily loss of just 9%—due in part to trading platform Robinhood listing the asset for trading. on Thursday.
Fartcoin (FARTCOIN), the viral sensation that has been gaining momentum in recent days, is in the green on Friday. It is up 8% on the day to a current price of $1.25, placing it just outside the top 100 coins by market cap. It hit a new high of $1.29 late Thursday.
Dogecoin is by far the biggest loser in the top 10 coins at the time of writing this. Bitcoin has fallen to $95,480, down 7% in the last 24 hours—and just three days after the leading Cryptocurrency set a new record price above $108,000.
Ethereum has fallen harder, down 10% in the past day to a price of $3,330, with Solana down 10% to $189 and XRP down 9% to $2.18.
More than $1.4 billion in cryptocurrency positions have been liquidated in the last day amid the crypto market decline, according to data from CoinGlass, with long positions — or bets that the price of an asset will rise — accounting for $1.2 billion of the total.
