LimeWire, known for its popular P2P client for downloading music and other files, has launched Blocknode, a platform that allows users to rent artificial intelligence powered by graphical processing units (GPUs) to those who need to improve their workloads.
Users interested in boosting the performance of their infrastructure with AI will be able to access GPUs from providers on-demand or on-spot, services that have different characteristics.
In the on-demand format, Uninterrupted access to computing power is guaranteed. In spot, costs are lower and access to computing power depends on availability.
According to LimeWire, this rental service serves “to optimize the costs and performance of your AI workloads, making it perfect for researchers, developers, and businesses alike.”
As this is a peer-to-peer (P2P) network, or more accurately a business-to-business (B2B) network, the GPUs available for rent will be offered by other network participants, who can earn LMWR tokens. At the time of writing, the price of this token is 0.19 USD. and is located in the position 485 in the CoinMarketCap ranking.
Got idle GPUs? Monetize spare capacity and earn $LMWR by joining our decentralized network! With Blocknode, you can rent out unused computing power to AI companies, maximizing your hardware utilization and generating revenue.

LimeWire claims that LMWR functions as the utility token for its entire network, including Blocknode and its content platform. generative with artificial intelligence, formerly an NFT ecosystem, such as reported CryptoNews.
Currently, LimeWire has left open a waiting list to sign up via email and get early access to Blocknode GPUs.
There will be several ways to join Blocknode’s services. One is via email and payment by credit card. Another is anonymous, paying in cryptocurrencies, and using ERC-20 wallets like MetaMask.
As an add-on, Blocknode will offer discounts on GPU purchases if the LimeWire token is used as payment.
How does Blocknode work?

Payments from customers who hire GPUs finance the Ethereum–Bitcoin-criptomonedas-seguridad/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>smart contracts that run AI workloads, after which the network calculates LMWR token rewards, which are then distributed to GPU providers.

The tokens given as rewards come from a fund that is sustained thanks to the buybacks that Blocknode applies of its own utility token.
Blocknodes claims the following on its website:
To ensure a sustainable reward pool for GPU providers, Blocknode regularly conducts buybacks of LMWR tokens from the open market using payments from GPU customers.

Blocknode, LimeWire’s initiative, was launched at the Token2049 convention in 2024 in Singapore. Version one of the nodes on the network will be launched in early 2025according to the company’s roadmap.
Initially, this service will be available to businesses able to provide computing power and to customers who require it. In the long term, Blocknode says it will allow retail GPU providers to connect their computers to the Blocknode network and rent out their computing power for profit.
