Reddit’s initial strategy is to facilitate cross-border advertising campaigns. For example, a European brand can advertise in the United States through the platform. However, Wong explains that once Reddit reaches 10% of a country’s online population, the possibility arises of creating local teams dedicated to advertising for national brands.
