An experiential nature
Garrido highlighted the nature of the academy, explaining: “Our difference is experiential. It is not just talking about trading, but living it; It is not just talking about cryptocurrencies, but interacting with a wallet or even a node. Furthermore, he stressed the importance of “bring down to earth” everything related to the cryptocurrency ecosystempromoting ethical training and awareness that these assets are not a formula to get rich quickly, but rather a tool to manage finances in complex economies, as he commented.
A total of 14 facilitators will teach the academic load, ensuring a diversity of approaches and experiences. Being part of the UCAB environment, the BT&C Academy will be integrated into the university’s research linespromoting innovation and the creation of new knowledge, free of biases and dogmas that other educational spaces may have.

Aníbal Garrido emphasizes the usefulness of the ecosystem beyond its value as assets, highlighting its role as a technology that offers alternatives to what is established. “The contribution of Bitcoin and the entire ecosystem from which it is derived resulted in the creation of a technology that allows society to have an additional tool to combat complex situations,” he declared.
Arturo Peraza, rector of the UCAB, commented on the academy: “The content of the training programs raises questions that go beyond the financial aspect, postulating systems that challenge the institutionality of the States, as they are currently constituted.” For him, this academy proposes a system that does not depend on the nation statebut rather promotes a concept of world citizen, with values shared at a global level.
The importance of this academy is highlighted in the Venezuelan context, where the country occupies the 13th place in cryptocurrency adoption, according to Chainalysis, reflecting the need for a specialized education on the subject. As CriptoNoticias has reported, this is not the first time that the ecosystem of Bitcoin is intertwined with university education in Venezuela, evidencing a growing interest and need for training in this area.
