The United States federal government has launched an investigation into Tether (USDT), the issuer of the stablecoin, according to an exclusive report by The Wall Street Journal. This investigation, led by the Department of Justice, focuses on the possible use of Tether by third parties to finance illicit activities and launder money.
Additionally, the Treasury Department is considering sanctions against Tether due to its alleged use by sanctioned entities, such as Hamas and Russian arms traffickers.
Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino dismissed the allegations as “old noise” and said there is no indication the company is formally under investigation. Despite Ardoino’s response, the report has increased uncertainty in the Cryptocurrency market.
Although Tether has faced criticism in the past, the company has also collaborated with authorities, helping to recover millions of dollars in USDT linked to fraudulent activities.
Bitcoin-para-aumentar-sus-ganancias”>Michael Saylor suggests Microsoft invest in Bitcoin to increase profits

Saylor, in a tweet addressed to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, highlighted that an investment in Bitcoin could bring significant returns for the company. Ethereum“>Vitalik Buterin launches new phase of “The Purge” to optimize Ethereum
Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, has launched the fifth phase of his “The Purge” series of initiatives, focused on reducing unnecessary data storage and simplifying the Ethereum protocol. This phase seeks to eliminate obsolete functions to improve network efficiency.
The main objective is to alleviate the load on the nodes, which currently require more than 1.17 terabytes of storage due to the accumulation of historical data. Buterin proposes a “partial state expiration,” allowing less-used data to be temporarily removed, which would improve performance and reduce costs.
While “The Purge” will not directly affect gas rates, these optimizations are expected to make the network more efficient and accessible.
